Immigrant Workers Freedom RideModeled after the Freedom Rides of the 1960s, the Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride from Sept. 20-Oct. 4 will highlight the need for immigration law reform and put immigration issues squarely on the national political agenda for the 2004 elections. Immigrants that have come to the US from all over the world will be joined by supporters as they cross the country, stopping in several cities along their way to educate and gather support for legalization. Buses will be leaving from Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago, Houston, Miami, and Boston. The convoy will convene in Washington DC October 1-2, 2003 where they will meet with members of congress, and then head to New York City for a mass rally on October 4.
